October brings many good things including pumpkins. For Katheryn and her red accordion that means many shifts on the wagons at the Pumpkin Patch in Richmond ferrying families and other pumpkin curious individuals back and forth to the mystically abundant pumpkin fields.
Katheryn rocks out on Monday nights with Andy Tabb as the accompanist duo for Local Vocal’s a popular community choir led by Vancouver’s ethnomusicology darling and gifted songbird Anna Baignoche.
This summer Katheryn spent a lot of time working on her accordion/toy piano repertoire playing at Farmer’s Markets throughout the City and busking at her favorite spots in Olympic Village. Kits Market has decided that she is their favorite entertainer and has had her playing back to back Sunday’s through September and into October.
Katheryn is thrilled that this year’s ambitious Accordion Noir Festival went off without a hitch. Artists and audience came from Nunavut, Texas, France, New York, Halifax, Portland, Seattle, Pemberton and many other locations. It was a magical meeting of squeezeboxery that would rival anything Paris Berlin or New York might have to offer. Katheryn is already hard at work gathering the nuts and bolts for 2017.
